Trading Safety & Rights Protection
Lock First. Then Sell.
This guide systematically covers trading safety rules, risk-avoidance techniques, and standard solutions when problems arise.
At xmoney.hk, trading security is the foundation of everything. To protect your rights and avoid account restrictions, please know the following rules before you trade.
✨ Three Iron Rules for Your Safety
-
Protect Funds | Verify first, then confirm
Until funds arrive, NEVER click “Confirm Receipt.” No matter how urgently the seller pushes, log in to your receiving account and confirm with your own eyes that the funds are complete, usable, and IRREVERSIBLE — then return to the platform to release XM Points. Once clicked, it cannot be undone.
-
Preserve Evidence | Only on-platform records count
External IM is allowed (e.g., WeChat, WhatsApp). Price, amount, Receiving Information, refund terms, transfer proof, and other key materials must be filed in designated in-platform channels (Official Messenger, RMA, Dispute, order logs / designated uploads). Adjudication preferentially credits these on-platform records. Unrefluxed chats (including external screenshots) are generally not used to decide cases. Official Messenger is one important source, not the sole evidence.
-
Use Rights | RMA first, then Dispute / Arbitration
If a dispute arises, start with RMA. If negotiation fails, open Dispute / Arbitration from the order lifecycle panel on the order details page. The platform rules based on the on-platform evidence chain.
⚠️ Red lines you must not cross (zero tolerance)
The following are treated as serious violations and will result in a Permanent Ban:
-
No Money Laundering
It is strictly prohibited to pay or receive using a bank/wallet account that is not in your own real name, or to help others move funds of unknown origin. The risk system monitors in real time; violations lead to an immediate ban and reporting.
-
No Fake Trades
Never click Ship or submit fake proof without an actual transfer, or help a seller by clicking “Confirm Receipt” when funds have not arrived. Verified violations lead to a Permanent Ban.
-
Respect Service Boundaries (Restricted Regions)
Do not use this service in restricted regions (e.g., Mainland China, the United States), or use the platform for illegal offline exchange businesses. Ensure your trades comply with the laws where you are.
Reject off-platform settlement
Reject any “off-platform” trade requests. All trade payments and settlements MUST be conducted exclusively via XM Points (XMP). The platform does not accept or process any direct fiat payments; all fiat transfers must occur in the external P2P layer.
Watch for abnormal pricing
Treat listings priced far below or far above the normal market with high caution. They may signal fraud or money laundering.
Check the seller’s reputation
Before you order, check the seller reputation badge on the product page (Blue Shield / Silver Shield / Gold Shield). Unverified sellers cannot list or trade. Prefer a verified counterparty with genuine reviews.
This is the most critical step for protecting your funds. Before you click “Confirm Receipt,” follow this three-step check:
-
Verify the inbound details
After the seller clicks Ship (status: Shipped), log in to your receiving account (e.g., Alipay, banking app). Check that the amount is exact and that the sender matches the seller’s verified name.
-
Confirm the funds are accurate and IRREVERSIBLE
Before you click “Confirm Receipt,” you are responsible for confirming, by reasonable means, that the funds are received, usable, and IRREVERSIBLE.
Why it matters: Most transfers cannot be reversed. A few channels may allow reversal under specific conditions. Clicking Confirm Receipt is IRREVERSIBLE: escrowed XM Points are released to the seller, and the platform cannot recover your funds.
Basic check: Use a small outbound transfer or contact the payment institution’s support to confirm that this receipt is real, accurate, and cannot be pulled back.
Pro tip (recommended): Keep your receiving account separate from your reserve account. After the seller’s transfer arrives, immediately try to move the full amount to another non-trading account. If that transfer succeeds, you have full control of the receipt.
-
Complete Confirm Receipt
Return to the order details page and click “Confirm Receipt” to release XM Points to the seller.
Return-to-platform principle
External IM is allowed; adjudication prefers on-platform records. You may use external IM (e.g., WeChat, WhatsApp, Facebook Group) to discuss order details; Official Messenger may also be used. Filing and progress remain on the Dispute channel / order lifecycle panel.
Correct vs. incorrect
Correct: Everyday chat may happen in external IM. Any key agreement (price change, refund terms, account confirmation, transfer proof, etc.) must be submitted through Official Messenger, RMA, Dispute, order logs, or designated in-platform uploads, and clearly confirmed by the other party on-platform. Preferential evidence: Official Messenger logs, Dispute, RMA, order logs, and designated uploads.
Incorrect: Submitting only unrefluxed chats (including external screenshots, audio, or video). These are generally not used to decide cases. Official Messenger is one important source, not the sole evidence.
The review system and reputation badges help you identify reliable counterparties and avoid risk. They are also how you contribute to community safety.
As a buyer (before you trade)
Before trading, check the seller reputation badge on the product page (Blue Shield / Silver Shield / Gold Shield) and past reviews. Read negative reviews carefully, and judge reliability together with how professional the product description is. The platform does not provide a standalone shop page or microsite.
As a completed-trade party (after you trade)
After the trade, leave a genuine, objective review. Each positive note helps a good seller grow; each risk warning helps other users avoid loss. A healthy, safe marketplace is built together.
For a consistent definition, see the “Core Concepts” page for the full meaning and mechanism of the [Reservation Model].
The instant the buyer completes checkout, the system copies the Specifications then shown on the product page (such as Unit Amount, currency, receiving channel, seller shipment time limit, and buyer Confirm Receipt time limit) and a summary of the Product Description onto that order and freezes them. This unchangeable copy of the deal is the Order Micro Contract. At the same time, the buyer’s XM Points enter Secured Transaction (XM Points Escrow); see the next section. The associated Receiving Information is locked at the same moment; neither party can change it until the trade ends.
-
Cannot be changed after the order is placed
If the seller later edits the product, the Micro Contract on orders already placed is not affected. It is shown as a read-only agreement, not “for reference only.”
-
Where to view it
Buyer or seller: open order details. Between the item row and “Order Information” you will see the Micro Contract grouped by SKU (Specifications and Product Description can be collapsed).
-
Time limits follow the frozen terms
The platform does not auto-ship or auto-confirm receipt when a time limit expires. The order lifecycle panel on order details shows the agreed times and countdown so both parties can track fulfillment.
-
How it is used in a dispute
Fulfillment and arbitration follow the terms frozen on the order, so a later product-page edit cannot overwrite what was agreed.
The instant checkout succeeds, the buyer’s XM Points are locked by the platform. They are released to the seller only after the seller completes the external transfer and the buyer clicks “Confirm Receipt.”
What is held in escrow is XM Points, not the fiat in your bank or e-wallet.
To ensure it’s really you, we mandate Bank-Grade TFA (Two-Factor Authentication) at critical steps: Login, Placing an Order (deducting XMP), Confirming Receipt (releasing XMP to the seller), plus editing Receiving Information, seller cancel-order, and other high-risk actions as prompted.
The platform provides Unit Amount as a risk-management tool so users can control exposure themselves.
Definition: “Unit Amount” allows you to split a large sum into multiple standardized “Small Packages” (e.g., splitting $1,000 into ten $100 units).
Value: By “Splitting Orders,” both sides can trial with small orders first. A dispute on one order won’t affect the safety of remaining funds, and turnover speed and flexibility improve.
When it applies
The order status must be “Pending,” meaning the seller has not marked it “Shipped.”
Path
Go to My Account → Trading & Service → Refund Requests, create a new request, select the order to cancel, and submit (request type: “Cancel Order”).
Outcome
If the seller agrees, the order is cancelled and the locked XM Points are returned in full to your X-Wallet. If the seller clicks Ship after your request and refuses cancellation, switch to the refund flow based on the actual situation.
Seller does not act in time: system auto-cancel
If, within this order’s shipment time limit, the seller neither handles the request nor ships, the system will auto-cancel when the limit expires: the order is cancelled, locked XM Points return to the buyer, and you do not need to open a dispute.
The shipment time limit starts at order placement. Hours are shown on the product page and in the Order Micro Contract. After you submit the request, the order lifecycle panel on order details shows the countdown. If you submit a cancel request after the shipment time limit has already passed, the system will execute as soon as it can — you do not wait another round.
Handle the buyer’s request
In Seller Dashboard → Products & Trading → Refund Management, you can approve or decline a buyer’s cancellation request.
Initiate cancellation
Only while the order is “Pending” can you click “Cancel Order” on the order details page (this action may require TFA).
Special case
If you have already clicked Ship (status: Shipped) but still need to cancel, talk with the buyer first and ask them to open a refund RMA, then process it. Chat details may use external IM, but refund terms must be refluxed into the RMA.
When it applies
Recommended: The seller has clicked Ship (status: Shipped), but you did not receive the transfer, the amount is short, or another problem occurred. Escrowed XM Points are still locked — this is the best time to request a refund.
Cannot apply: When the order is “Complete,” “Canceled,” or “Closed,” the system does not accept a refund request — XM Points on a completed order have already been released to the seller. The only exception: platform-operated products may request a refund within the 14-day cooling-off period (see “Refund rules for platform-operated products” in this section).
Path
Go to My Account → Trading & Service → Refund Requests, create a new request, select the order, enter the reason, and submit.
What happens next
Your request goes to the seller. If the seller declines or does not respond for a long time, you may open Dispute / Arbitration from the order lifecycle panel on the order details page (refund-type disputes usually require an active refund RMA first).
After the buyer submits a refund RMA, go to Seller Dashboard → Products & Trading → Refund Management, find the request, and choose based on the facts:
Full refund
Use this when your transfer fully failed and the amount has returned to your account. Choose “Agree to refund” on the RMA page. The system automatically returns the escrowed XM Points to the buyer in full.
Partial refund
Use this when only part of the transfer succeeded, or both parties agree to refund only part of the amount. Submit a partial-refund proposal in the RMA.
Decline refund
Use this when you confirm you transferred the full amount successfully as the order required. Choose decline in the RMA and provide clear, valid transfer proof.
Partial / declined refund note
After the seller submits a proposal via RMA, it takes effect only after the buyer clicks “Agree” in the RMA. If the buyer disagrees, either party may apply for a platform dispute / arbitration from order details.
If the order status is “Pending”
Complete failure
You may cancel the order directly, or, after talking with the buyer, correct the details and transfer again. File key agreements back on-platform (order / RMA).
Partial failure
First mark “Shipped” and submit proof for the successful portion, then contact the buyer immediately and ask them to request a partial refund via RMA.
If the order status is “Shipped”
Complete or partial failure
Whether complete or partial, tell the buyer the facts immediately and ask them to open an RMA refund for the corresponding amount. Chat may use external IM; the refund amount and proof must be refluxed into the RMA.
Refund window
You may request a refund within 14 days after purchasing a platform-operated product (including the purchase date — the “14-day cooling-off period”). This is the only case in which a refund request can be submitted on a “Complete” order.
Path
Go to My Account → Trading & Service → Refund Requests and submit the request through the RMA system.
When it applies
Buyer scenario
You still cannot agree with the seller on a refund, transfer, or similar issue after using RMA.
Seller scenario
You have transferred successfully and provided valid proof, but the buyer still does not Confirm Receipt after the Confirm Receipt time limit, and communication has failed.
Path
Open the relevant order details and start the request from the dispute step in the order lifecycle panel. Fill in the dispute content, order number, and what you ask for. You can also track progress from My Account → Trading & Service → My Disputes (buyer) or Seller Dashboard → Products & Trading → My Disputes (seller).
Please note: Refund-type disputes usually require an active refund RMA first. Final orders (Complete / Closed / Canceled) generally do not accept a new dispute. Detailed negotiation may happen in external IM, but proof and key agreements must be refluxed on-platform. Unrefluxed chats are generally not used to decide cases.
On-platform records (preferred)
Dispute case records, RMA negotiation and proposals, order logs, and screenshots / screen recordings submitted through designated in-platform uploads. Unrefluxed chats (including external screenshots) are generally not used to decide cases. Official Messenger is one important source, not the sole evidence.
Seller proof
A video or screenshot of the transfer record, clearly showing receiving account, amount, time, and other key fields, uploaded to Disputes / RMA or another on-platform channel.
Buyer proof
A screen-recording video of the receiving wallet’s transaction history, clearly showing the query process, time range, and transaction details, uploaded to an on-platform channel.
Ruling principles
Platform arbitration strictly follows the evidence-uniqueness principle (in principle, only the on-platform, verifiable evidence chain is accepted) and the rule-parity principle (rulings follow published platform trading rules, including that order’s Micro Contract).
Possible outcomes
These may include dismissing the refund (releasing escrowed XM Points to the seller), forcing a return of escrowed XM Points (full or partial to the buyer), or allocating by share of liability.
Timeline
Ordinary disputes are in principle decided within 3–5 business days.
Zero-tolerance line
If either party is found to have forged proof, that account will receive an immediate Permanent Ban.
