Account & Security Settings
Lock First. Then Sell.
This guide walks you through account registration, identity verification, member reputation and trading limits, and security hardening.
xmoney.hk supports email registration only.
-
Set a strong password
Use at least 8 characters, including 3 of the following 4: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
Keep your password safe. On a device you personally use, you may let the browser or system save it so you do not forget. If you forget it, reset it on the sign-in page with your registered email (see “Account lifecycle” on this page). Do not save passwords on public or shared devices.
-
Activate your email
After you submit registration, activate your account via the link we send to your email.
Note: Once registration and activation succeed, seller features are enabled automatically. You do not need to click “Become a Seller.”
Identity verification confirms who you are, and checks one name-verified receiving account. You may submit both tracks at the same time. Your storefront identity status shows “Verified” only after both tracks are approved.
-
Path
My Account → Account & Security → Identity Verification.
Track A — Official ID
A government-issued national ID, passport, or driver’s license that is still valid.
For a national ID or driver’s license, upload 1 photo of the front and 1 of the back. For a passport, upload 1 photo of the biodata page (with photo). JPEG / PNG only; each file max 5 MB. On iPhone, save as JPEG / PNG first. You may add a note such as “For xmoney.hk verification only.”
Track B — Name-verified receiving account
Submit one e-wallet or debit bank card that has already completed name verification (choose one).
Enter the channel name (for example, Alipay) and the account ID, and upload up to 2 proof screenshots that show the account is name-verified and belongs to you.
-
Identity status
Unverified: Materials are incomplete, or only one track is approved. Pending review: Materials on either track are under review. Verified: Both tracks are approved.
-
Review method and timeline
Reviews are usually completed within 1 to 3 business days. Results are sent to your registered email. If a track is rejected, you may fix the issue and resubmit. Rejection of one track does not cancel the other track’s existing approval.
Note: Track B is verification material for the platform. It is not the Receiving Information you enter in Address Book when you place an order.
Here, Receiving Information means the channel and account you want the seller to transfer into when you are the buyer (for example, your Alipay account). Each user may add multiple addresses and choose one by Address Label when placing an order.
-
Path
My Account → Account & Security → Address Book.
-
Address Label
A name you give yourself, so you can tell addresses apart. Examples: Alipay, GCash, Alipay 1, Alipay 2.
-
Key fields
Enter the Receiving Channel (e.g., Alipay, ICBC) and the Receiving Account (your account ID) accurately.
Account Name and Additional Information are optional: fill them only if that receiving channel needs a name or a memo. Otherwise leave them blank.
Risk warning: Double-check the receiving channel and account. An error will prevent you from receiving the Currency Commodity you purchased. When you place an order, the channel you select must be one the seller has declared as supported on that product; otherwise the order cannot be completed.
-
Reset password
On the sign-in page, click “Forgot Your Password?” and reset via the link sent to your registered email.
-
Close account
To delete your account, sign in and submit a support ticket. Our team will handle the request.
-
Account balance (XM Points & Store Credit)
Validity follows account status: while the account is active, the balance remains valid. After 3 years of no sign-in, the balance is frozen (sign in to unfreeze). After 5 years of inactivity, the account is closed and the balance is forfeited.
-
Unused codes (rebate vouchers & gift cards)
Codes have a fixed 3-year validity. Redeem them as soon as possible under My Account → More → My Vouchers. Once redeemed, the balance stays valid with your account status.
A Member Reputation Tier is the reputation level the platform grants based on your identity verification status and XM Trust Score. It applies to both buyer and seller roles. There are four tiers:
-
Unverified
The default status after registration. Until dual-track identity verification is approved, you cannot list products or place orders.
-
Blue Shield · Verified
Granted immediately after both identity-verification tracks are approved. You do not wait for a score threshold first. After verification, XM Trust Score is credited at the published standard of 50 points (one-time). You stay on Blue Shield until you reach the Silver Shield threshold.
-
Silver Shield · Preferred
Verified, and your XM Trust Score has reached the Silver Shield threshold (published standard: ≥ 700).
-
Gold Shield · Top
Verified, and your XM Trust Score has reached the Gold Shield threshold (published standard: ≥ 1,500).
Note: Reputation badges reflect fulfillment history and platform records. They do not constitute a financial guarantee. You can view your current reputation badge and XM Trust Score under My Account → Account & Security → Account Information.
Each reputation tier has a different daily cumulative trading limit. Limits are counted by calendar day (store timezone). Buys and sells share one limit. The unit is XM Points (XMP; 1 XMP = 1 USD).
- Unverified: Cannot trade (limit = 0)
- Blue Shield · Verified: Daily combined cap 2,000 XMP (about 2,000 USD)
- Silver Shield · Preferred: Daily combined cap 20,000 XMP (about 20,000 USD)
- Gold Shield · Top: Daily combined cap 200,000 XMP (about 200,000 USD)
If you have an active Gold Shield Limit Trial, the effective daily limit is the higher of your tier limit and the trial limit.
Note: The platform may adjust these limits for operations and risk control. If they change, the latest figures published in this Help Center apply.
XM Trust Score is recorded by event: completion credits and timeout debits are kept separate and do not offset each other. Trust Score cannot be purchased. Account “Member Reputation” shows only the current badge and current score. It does not list each event.
-
Affects the seller
-
Order completed normally · Increase. When the buyer confirms receipt, the order completes for the first time, and the order has no valid dispute, the seller’s XM Trust Score increases. A refund negotiation (RMA) does not block this item.
-
Shipped late, still completed · Decrease. If the seller actually ships after that order’s agreed shipping deadline, and the order still completes, a separate debit is recorded against the seller’s XM Trust Score. This item is calculated apart from “Order completed normally” and does not offset it. If the order is canceled or closed before completion, this item does not debit.
-
Cancel request left unanswered · Decrease. After the buyer has opened a cancel-order refund negotiation (RMA), if the seller does not respond within the agreed time limit, the system automatically cancels the order and returns the buyer’s XM Points, then deducts the seller’s XM Trust Score (published standard: 20 points). This item does not apply if the seller agrees to cancel, the two sides settle, or the buyer withdraws the request.
-
-
Affects the buyer
-
Manual Confirm Receipt · Increase. When the buyer confirms receipt on the storefront and the order completes, the buyer’s XM Trust Score increases. Orders completed automatically, or closed without the buyer’s confirmation, do not count.
-
Trade review approved · Increase. After the order completes, a buyer trade review that the platform approves increases the buyer’s XM Trust Score. Each order counts once (a product review or a seller review still counts once). Sellers do not gain Trust Score for “being reviewed.”
-
Confirm Receipt late, still completed · Decrease. If the buyer actually confirms after that order’s agreed confirmation deadline, and the order still completes, a separate debit is recorded against the buyer’s XM Trust Score. This item is calculated apart from “Manual Confirm Receipt” and does not offset it.
-
Cancel request left unanswered · Increase. After the buyer has opened a cancel-order refund negotiation (RMA), if the seller does not respond within the agreed time limit, the system automatically cancels the order and returns the buyer’s XM Points, then increases the buyer’s XM Trust Score (published standard: 20 points) as a consolation. Refund-type negotiations do not apply.
-
-
Affects both buyer and seller
-
Complete identity verification (first time) · Increase. After both the ID track and the name-verified receiving-account track are approved, XM Trust Score is credited (published standard: 50 points, once only).
-
Dispute closed with a finding of fault · Debit the party at fault, credit the party not at fault. When the platform closes an order dispute with a human ruling: the party at fault loses XM Trust Score; the party not at fault gains XM Trust Score as specified. This item has no automatic conversion from the refund amount. Opening or conducting a refund negotiation (RMA) generally does not change Trust Score, except when a cancel-order request goes unanswered and the system auto-cancels (see above).
-
Platform adjustment as specified. Operations may increase or decrease an account’s XM Trust Score as specified (a reason must be recorded). If identity verification is revoked, the reputation tier returns to Unverified and trading is not allowed.
-
-
Does not count toward XM Trust Score
-
Buying any product (including platform-operated products that include a Gold Shield Limit Trial); opening or conducting a refund negotiation (RMA)—negotiation itself generally does not score, except when a cancel-order request goes unanswered and the system auto-cancels (see above). The Gold Shield Limit Trial only raises the time-limited daily trading limit; it does not add score or change your shield.
-
A Gold Shield Limit Trial is a benefit bundled with some platform-operated products, not a product sold on its own. The product page states whether this benefit is included. When it is, after the order completes you may trial the Gold Shield daily trading limit for a limited period.
- This benefit does not increase XM Trust Score and does not change your Blue / Silver / Gold Shield badge.
- You must already be Blue Shield or above for it to take effect. Unverified accounts cannot buy their way around trading limits.
Note: After a refund or expiry, the daily trading limit returns to the standard for your current reputation tier.
TFA (Two-Factor Authentication) adds a second check beyond your password. After you enable it, sign-in and some critical actions require a time-based code from an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator).
-
Path
My Account → Account & Security → Two-Factor Authentication.
-
When it counts as enabled
Scan the QR code with your authenticator (or paste the secret key), then enter the current 6-digit code on this page.
-
Backup
When you enable TFA, back up the secret key or QR code the system provides. After you change or lose your phone, that backup is the only way to restore access yourself. Confirm you have a backup before you hide the QR code.
-
Lost device or backup?
If you have a backup, restore it on a new device yourself. If you do not, contact support to request a manual unbind (strict identity review required). Official support will never ask you for your password or time-based code.
-
When a code is required (examples)
Including but not limited to: account sign-in, placing an order, Confirm Receipt, adding or editing an address (Receiving Information), seller cancel-order, and Refund Requests. Follow the prompt on each page.
For concepts of XM Points (XMP) and X-Wallet, see Core Concepts & How It Works. X-Wallet is the sidebar item Trading & Service → X-Wallet in your account center, where XM Points are held.
-
Path
My Account → Trading & Service → X-Wallet. After you open it, Last Transactions on the page is the XM Points credit and debit record.
Credit
An increase in XM Points (for example, selling a Currency Commodity or receiving affiliate commission).
Debit
A decrease in XM Points (for example, buying a Currency Commodity or paying the platform service fee).
Use XM Points to buy the balance you need (recommended)
In the Global Wallet Balance Marketplace, buy the Currency Commodity you need. The seller transfers fiat directly to your designated receiving account. The platform does not support using fiat currency to “top up” X-Wallet and buy points.
